Spread out the Auskickers within the playing area.
Auskickers run in certain directions depending on the word you shout:
This is a fun game that keeps kids guessing; you can even try to trick them with double-ups!
But don’t be predictable by using patterns so they won’t know what’s next!
Come up with other new actions to go with each word. For instance, “Nowhere” could mean the Auskickers lie down using the footballs as pillows.
Try playing “Shadow Tag”: The Auskickers are in pairs, with one Auskicker of the pair named the “Shadow Tagger”.
On “Go”, the shadow tagger chases their partner.
On “Stop” everyone freezes and the shadow tagger reaches out to try and tag their partner.
Now swap roles.
Make sure kids don’t run outside the Activity Square.
Try to make it as unpredictable and fun as you can for the kids. Quick, precise instruction makes it easier for the kids, too.
Encourage kids to be aware of their surroundings and not run into each other.
