(1 adult: 1 Auskicker ratio)
Place the cones in a line across the grass with each Auskicker standing behind their cone.
A few metres away the adult stands facing them with the footy on the ground halfway between them.
The Auskicker races forward, picks up the ball, gives it to the adult, runs around them and gets the ball back.
They put it back in the middle and return to their cone.
Do this a few times!
The Auskicker throws or handballs the footy to the adult, runs around the adult and back to the cone.
After a bit, handball the footy back and forth!
Make it harder! Take a few steps back so the Auskicker and adult are further apart. The adult rolls the ball to the Auskicker, even in a crooked or wobbly line for added difficulty.
The Auskicker then picks it up and handballs it back.
Go around each cone helping kids with their handball action!
Get the adult and the Auskicker standing further apart.
Ask the Auskickers to try using their opposite hand to handball - even if it's wonky!
Use a timer. See how many handballs they can do in 30 seconds!
Keep your eyes on the ball! That means look it and watch it.
Keep your body lined up with the ball and a little bent over (i.e. a semi-crouch position).
Create a “platform hand” like a pancake.
Hold your fist with the thumb on the outside, like when you hold an ice cream.
