Parent participation and volunteer help is what makes the Auskick program awesome!

Activity helper and support crew tips

The NAB AFL Auskick curriculum and activities have been created to maximise session engagement and involvement for the kids. Volunteers and parent helpers are at the core of the program and what make Auskick the fantastic community program it is.

The Auskick Curriculum relies on having parents engaged and involved to maximise our kids enjoyment in Auskick. Below are some pointers when it comes to recruiting and retaining parent volunteers:

  • Don't be afraid to ask for help!
  • Provide clear information and resources that will make their role easier
  • Create a team environment - Auskick not only connects our kids, it also connects our parents!
  • Develop a rapport - check in on how your helpers are feeling, and create the personal connection
